Orgs and ECs:
SSA, South Asian Mentorship Program, tutor, MEDLife, and EMT club

Bio:

Hi, I am Arjun, a sophomore at Pitzer. Currently, I am majoring in neuroscience. Science and everything science has always been my favorite part of school. Outside of school, I spend most of my freetime either watching basketball and football or playing video games.

I want to be an advisor because helping the Sikh community has always been one of my goals. I understand that applying to college can be stressful and difficult. I believe I can offer assistance to everyone within the Sikh community and make sure they are not alone when applying to colleges.

Orgs and ECs:
South Asian Mentorship Program, Sikh Student Association, Pitzer BA-DO linkage program, Jakara Movement

Bio:

Hi friends! I am a senior at Pitzer College, majoring in Human Biology with a concentration in Sociology and Psychology. I am passionate about research in female reproductive health and access and also have a strong focus on alcoholism in the Punjabi Sikh community, which is the topic of my senior thesis!

Besides academics, I have served as a head mentor and mentor for an identity organization, the South Asian Mentorship Program which is a 5C organization providing guidance and community to first year and transfer students identifying as South Asian. This is my second term as Co-President of the Claremont Colleges Sikh Students Association. As a member of the Pitzer linkage program, I have been able to connect with other premed students of various class standings focusing on holistic medicine.

Being at Pitzer, one of the Claremont Colleges, as a Punjabi Sikh has really made me realize how important it is to be represented in these predominantly white spaces. It was tricky for me to navigate these liberal arts spaces coming from a huge Punjabi Sikh community in Fresno, but I found a home away from home through the few older Sikh students. I want to serve as a guide for you all in this fun process and make your journey easier!

Frequently Asked Questions

6 at Claremont McKenna and about 15 in the 7 College Consortium

Aim to be in the top 10%-15% of your class. The average ACT is 33. CMC put a ton of focus on how you’ve applied your learning via ECs so don’t stress too much about scores and grades.

Definitely Economics, Government, Psychology, International Relations, and PPE (Philosophy Government and Economics). We get the rap of being a Econ bro school but some of our other majors like Philosophy and Religious Studies really standout among top schools.
