Amrit Singh

College Advisor @ Pomona College

Location: Surrey, BC

Orgs and ECs:
5C Sikh Student Association

Bio:

Hulo! I’m Amrit Singh, and I am an Alumni of Pomona College. When I was in college, I was lucky enough to find a community that supported me and helped me fall in love with Sikhi.

I want to be an advisor to carry that forward and to help others maintain and grow in Sikhi while learning how to balance the demands of college life as well.

Writing Center/Speaking Partner, Student Government (ASPC), Title IX advocacy, Theatre, Musical Theatre, Singing, Acting, Directing, and work with Admin on various school committees

Bio:

Hello! My name is Hershey and I am a Politics and Theatre double major from San Diego, California. As a senior at Pomona College, I have spent my last four years working as a speaking partner at the Writing Center, serving as a Politics Department Liaison, leading as the Artistic Director of Green Room Theatre, performing and directing in multiple plays and musicals across the consortium, and working to promote survivor advocacy as the previous Title IX Advocate Director for ASPC. I currently serve as my student government’s Vice President of Student Affairs.

I am excited to be an advisor as I always have admired how Sikh students can pave the way for the next generation of Sikhi in academic scholarship and advocacy, and I want to help students on their journey.

Frequently Asked Questions

6 at Claremont McKenna and about 15 in the 7 College Consortium

Aim to be in the top 10%-15% of your class. The average ACT is 33. CMC put a ton of focus on how you’ve applied your learning via ECs so don’t stress too much about scores and grades.

Definitely Economics, Government, Psychology, International Relations, and PPE (Philosophy Government and Economics). We get the rap of being a Econ bro school but some of our other majors like Philosophy and Religious Studies really standout among top schools.
