Bio:

Hi! I’m Savi, and I attend the University of California at Santa Cruz. Coming to Santa Cruz has been a great way for me to expand my religious and cultural identity because I went to a small, predominantly white high school.

I’m an advisor because I want to show incoming college and transfer students that Santa Cruz is a GREAT university. One should not be hindered by college rankings and I will show incoming college and transfer students why Santa Cruz is such an amazing school. Its beautiful campus and small, yet warm Punjabi Sikh community are just two reasons why Santa Cruz should definitely be on your college list. We have an active SSA and Bhangra team for those interested (and I happen to be a part of both so I can best guide them in these departments). Did you know that there are Sikh and Punjabi Studies at UC Santa Cruz?! More of a reason to consider Santa Cruz! I will look closely with students to figure out whether their proposed major is an option at Santa Cruz and how they will fit into our small Sikh and Punjabi community here :).

Ravjodh Heer

College Advisor @ UC Santa Cruz

Location: Bakersfield, CA

Orgs and ECs:
Sikh Student Association Marketing Manager, Indian Student Association member

Bio:

I am a sophomore at UC Santa Cruz studying computer science. I love computers and technology as well as cars and machinery. I also love staying fit at the gym and playing soccer which is my favorite sport. I am also well experienced in Graphic Design and Digital production.

I am an advisor because I personally believe that if there was someone there to help me understand the initial complications of college as an incoming freshman, I would be more involved in campus activities and altogether more successful. That’s why, I want to be someone who can help incoming students and give them the help they need to reach that success as well as experience a smooth transition from high school to college.

I want to make sure that the future generations of Sikh students have role models to help guide them through high school, and even college, in a way that no one was able to guide me.

I am currently a third-year MCD bio major at UC Santa Cruz who is aspiring to become a neurologist. When I am not studying I am either playing soccer, boxing, at the gym, or out with friends.
